We often use products with special ingredients for our damaged or brittle. Meanwhile, it turns out that it is often enough to supplement the shortage of their natural ingredients to significantly improve their condition. The most important of these is keratin. See for yourself, that the effectiveness lies in simplicity, and the beauty of hair in its proper care – with keratin preparations for hair.
Keratin – what is it?
Keratin is a protein that is the main building block of hair. As much as 65-90% of hair volume is because of keratin, consisting of amino acids, lipids, minerals and water. The level of keratin in the hair affects their condition. Hair rich in keratin is characterized by a better appearance and resistance to harmful external factors. Unfortunately, hair loses keratin as a result of many factors, such as styling treatments, dyeing, bleaching, straightening with a straightener or even simple exposure to UV radiation or frost. It is also good to know, that the type of keratin bonds in the hair determines whether the hair is straight or curly.
Keratin for hair – how does it work?
Shops offer us keratin shampoos, pharmacies keratin preparations and conditioners, and manufacturers of hair styling devices have even developed special keratin hair straighteners. All of this just so our hair is not in danger of keratin deficiency, which is so easy to lose in an era of destructive hairdressing treatments and aggressive dyes. It is the keratin for hair that makes it smooth, durable and shiny. In addition to the noticeable visual change, keratin on the hair makes it easier to detangle and style, and also prevents frizz and split ends. In short hair, keratin has the same benefits, both for the appearance of the hair as well as making it easier to care for.
Keratin hair treatment
There are different types of keratin treatments, but each of them consists in replenishing the keratin deficiency in the hair. The keratin treatment is recommended for people, whose hair is dry, brittle and dull. First, the hair is washed with a special shampoo, and then the liquid keratin is pressed into individual strands of hair, using a ceramic hairdressing iron, heated to a temperature of over 200° C.
The effects of the keratin treatment are noticeable immediately after and last for 3 to 8 months, after which the treatment can be repeated. The condition of the treated hair and the observance of appropriate hair care after the treatment have a great impact on the durability of the effect. The price of the keratin treatment ranges from PLN 250 to PLN 1,000, depending on the length and density of the hair. The keratin hair straightening treatment (the so-called Brazilian blow out) is also popular, which, apart from enriching the hair with keratin, will also effectively tame unwanted waves and curls.
Liquid keratin – how to apply?
We can also carry out a keratin hair treatment at home. All you have to do is buy a preparation with liquid keratin and add a few drops to your daily hair cosmetics. Liquid hair keratin mixed with e.g. a shampoo, conditioner or hair mask will make the keratin deficiency in the hair at least partially replenished. Before buying, it is worth looking for reviews online, to find out what keratin is recommended by users, because liquid keratin from various manufacturers may result in a more or less permanent hair regeneration effect. How else to use liquid keratin to make the keratin treatment effective?
- Wash your hair with a cleansing shampoo that helps to separate the cuticles.
- Dry your hair gently with a towel.
- Use a keratin spray to help you evenly distribute the keratin over the hair strands.
- Dry your hair with a dryer – under the influence of heat, liquid keratin is much better absorbed into the hair structure.
Contrary to popular belief, hair keratin should not be used too often. Both the deficiency of keratin and its excess in the hair are not beneficial for their condition. In case of extremely damaged hair, it is recommended to use liquid keratin once a week.
The recipe for beautiful hair for both women and men is called keratin. From time to time, it is worth taking a moment to take care of your hair with preparations like liquid keratin, and your hair will surely repay you.
